Planning an Indoor Event?
Some designs may work indoors when the venue has enough floor space, ceiling height, clearance around the unit, power (an outlet within 100 feet, or a generator), and a suitable setup area. We can set up on a gym or similar floor.

What types of bounce houses do you offer?

What's the difference between a bounce house and a combo?
A classic unit is all about bouncing. A combo packs more into one inflatable and may add a slide, climbing elements, basketball hoops, obstacles, dual lanes, or water, depending on the model.
Prefer a dry day? Most combos come in a dry version too.
How do I rent a bounce house in Newark, DE?

How much space do I need?
Each design's setup area is posted under “More Info” on its page, and measuring is up to you. These units are bigger than they look, and we'd hate to arrive on party day and not fit.
As a guide, the Bounce House, Sports USA, and Barn Yard need a 20′ x 20′ area, Circus Circus needs 20′ x 18′, Jumbo Fun House needs 25′ x 25′, and Boom Box Bouncer needs 20′ x 35′. Every one also needs 15′ to 17′ of height, so look up for trees and wires.

Can a bounce house go indoors, and can adults jump?
Possibly, indoors. We can set up on a gym or similar floor if there is enough floor space, ceiling height, clearance, and power. Call with your venue dimensions first.
Participant requirements vary by design. The four classics are listed for children, the Boom Box Bouncer for children to adults up to 250 lbs each, and the Jumbo Fun House for bouncers 36 to 60 inches tall up to 175 lbs each. Check the listing or call us if adults will be jumping.
What's included, and what does it cost?
Prices run from $225 to $345 and cover an all-day rental (up to 8 hours) with delivery, setup, and pickup. Tax is extra (Delaware rental tax is 1.9914%, plus any applicable Maryland or Pennsylvania tax), every order needs a $100 deposit, and a minimum order may apply.

What start and end times should I enter?
Enter your event's exact start and end times. We'll make sure your rental is ready for your start time. A day or two before, we'll text you a delivery window, and we've never been late to an event. Delivery may happen the day before, but we can't guarantee that, so please don't tell the kids.
Do you require a deposit, and how do I pay?
Yes, every order requires a $100 deposit. We accept cash or credit cards. If you pay in cash, please have exact change, because our drivers don't carry cash. Final payment by credit card must be made before or at delivery, and a technology fee applies to card payments. We accept company checks only.

Do I need power, and does it have to stay plugged in?
Yes. A blower keeps air in the inflatable the entire time, and once it's unplugged the unit deflates. We require an outlet within 100 feet of the unit, or a generator. Big Wave provides the heavy-duty extension cords. No outlet nearby? Add a generator to your order.
What surfaces can you set up on?
Grass is our favorite and best for the kids. We can also set up on asphalt, concrete, or indoors on a gym or similar floor. We can't set up on rocks, gravel, mulch, or sand, because the constant rubbing wears through the vinyl. An additional surface fee applies to units not set up on grass that need more than 10 sandbags.
What happens if it rains or the wind picks up?
We're very flexible. We understand the weather doesn't always cooperate. If you or Big Wave decides it's necessary to reschedule, your deposit can be used toward anything on our website. We may require rescheduling based on the current forecast from Weather.com and/or WeatherUnderground.com.
We can't set up when the forecast calls for a 30% chance of rain or greater. We also can't set up inflatables with sustained winds over 15 MPH or projected gusts of 15 MPH or more. In that case, you can reschedule or choose replacement items from available equipment. If you cancel within 30 days of the event, the deposit may not be refundable but can be used as a raincheck toward another rental.
How far ahead should I book?
Once you know your date, reserve early, especially for weekends, holidays, and school events. Availability varies by design and date, so the quickest way to know is to check your date.

Do you deliver near me?
We deliver throughout our regular service area, including Newark, Middletown, and Wilmington, DE; Elkton, MD; Landenberg, PA; and surrounding communities. Events outside our normal service area may still be possible depending on location and availability, and additional delivery fees may apply there.
Allow at least 6 ft of access to the setup area. Inflatables can weigh up to 700 pounds, so we need a clear path with no stairs or steep hills.
Do you operate in Pennsylvania?
Yes. Big Wave Party Rentals is licensed and insured in Pennsylvania, and all six designs on this page are marked PA, MD, DE Approved. Planning a party outside Delaware? See our PA approved inflatables.
Do you set up in parks?
Yes and no. Parks are available most months, depending on demand. Because parks are open to the public, the customer must be with the unit at all times, so exact setup and pickup times are harder to accommodate in our busy season (June, July, and August). Generators are a must-rent in a park. Please call to reserve in a park so we can check availability.
Do you deliver to the University of Delaware?
We deliver to the University and the surrounding area only for University-sponsored events.
Are your bounce houses clean and safe?
Clean means CLEAN. Our professional team cleans every unit and performs a safety inspection before your event. A repeat customer says every rental has been exceptionally clean, set up well before event start, and a delight for event attendees.
