    Space, players, and power

    Choose by Space, Players, and Power

    Games range from a 10′ x 10′ carnival game to a 45′ x 25′ slide. The right one depends on your space, your guests, and the kind of competition you want.

    How much space?

    The Dunk Tank needs 12′ x 12′ and a carnival game 10′ x 10′, so they fit a small yard. The Gladiator Joust, Wrecking Ball, Corn Maze, and Mini Golf want about 30′ x 30′. The Field Goal Challenge and Triple Lane Slide need a long lawn.

    How many players?

    Two at a time: Basketball Shootout, Hoop Zone, and First Down Football. Up to four: Gladiator Joust and Wrecking Ball. Whole crowd: Dunk Tank, Skee Ball, and giant yard games. Little ones can try T-Ball, listed for ages 3 to 9.

    Power and water?

    Most inflatable games need one outlet within 100 feet, or a generator. The Corn Maze needs two, and the Mechanical Bull needs two dedicated 20 amp circuits. The Dunk Tank needs no power, but you supply the hose and about 350 gallons of water.

    How do I rent interactive games in Newark, DE?

    What's included with my rental, and what does it cost?

    Your rental includes the game unit, setup, takedown, safety instructions, and the equipment needed for operation. Prices run from $40 to $1,395 and cover an all-day rental (up to 8 hours) with delivery, setup, and pickup. The Mechanical Bull is rented for up to 3 hours.

    Tax is extra (Delaware rental tax is 1.9914%, plus any applicable Maryland or Pennsylvania tax), every order needs a $100 deposit, and a minimum order may apply.

    How much space do I need?

    Each game's setup area is posted under “More Info” on its page, and measuring is up to you. As a guide, carnival games need 10′ x 10′, the Dunk Tank 12′ x 12′, Skee Ball 25′ x 10′, the Basketball Shootout and First Down Football 20′ x 15′, and the Gladiator Joust 25′ x 25′.

    The Wrecking Ball, Corn Maze, and Mini Golf need about 30′ x 30′, the Mechanical Bull 20′ x 20′, the Field Goal Challenge 35′ x 20′, and the Triple Lane Slide 45′ x 25′. Most also need 8′ to 20′ of height, so look up for trees and wires. See the size guide above.

    What about power, water, surfaces, and weather?

    Power: most inflatable games need 1 outlet, the Corn Maze needs 2, and the Mechanical Bull needs two dedicated 20 amp circuits. A blower keeps air in the unit the entire time, so it has to stay plugged in. We require an outlet within 100 feet, or a generator, and Big Wave provides the heavy-duty extension cords. No outlet nearby? Add a generator to your order.

    Water: the Dunk Tank needs no power, but you supply the hose and about 350 gallons of water.

    Surfaces: grass is our favorite. We can also set up on asphalt, concrete, or indoors on a gym or similar floor. We can't set up on rocks, gravel, mulch, or sand.

    Rain and wind: we can't set up when the forecast calls for a 30% chance of rain or greater, or sustained winds over 15 MPH. You can reschedule or choose replacement items, and your deposit stays usable.

    Which games work for kids, teens, and adults?

    Most games are listed for all ages. The T-Ball set is for ages 3 to 9, the Wrecking Ball is for riders 42″ to 76″ tall up to 200 lbs, and Dunk Tank dunkees must be 18 or older and 250 lbs or less because of insurance rules. The Mechanical Bull is open to any age with a signed waiver, and riders under 18 need a parent signature.

    Can interactive games be used indoors?

    Many can. The Corn Maze, Mini Golf, carnival games, Basketball Shootout, and Soccer Dart Game are listed for indoor and outdoor use. We can set up on a gym or similar floor if there is enough floor space, ceiling height, clearance, and power. Call with your venue dimensions first.

    How does the Mechanical Bull work?

    It's rented for up to 3 hours and includes one trained operator, adjustable speed settings, and a soft inflatable landing area. It needs a 20′ x 20′ x 10′ setup area and two dedicated 20 amp circuits. Waivers are required per event, and riders under 18 need a parent signature on file or provided to the operator. Call to reserve.

    Can I rent several games in one order?

    Yes, and it's the easiest way to run a bigger event. Rent 4 inflatable sports games and get the 5th free, or rent 9 carnival games and get the 10th free. Pair games with an obstacle course or a bounce house to keep the fun going all day.

    How far in advance should I book?

    We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends, school events, and peak seasons when popular games book quickly. Availability varies by game and date, so the quickest way to know is to check your date.

    Do you deliver and set everything up?

    Yes. Our crew delivers, sets up, tests the equipment, and returns after the event for pickup so you can enjoy the party without the hassle. Allow at least 6 ft of access to the setup area, with a clear path and no stairs or steep hills.

    Do you operate in Pennsylvania, and do you set up in parks?

    Yes to Pennsylvania. Big Wave Party Rentals is licensed and insured in Pennsylvania. Look for the PA, MD, DE Approved label on each listing. The Wrecking Ball and the wet Splash Down 45′ are DE/MD only. See our PA approved inflatables.

    Parks are available most months, depending on demand. Because parks are open to the public, the customer must be with the unit at all times, and generators are a must-rent in a park. Please call to reserve in a park so we can check availability.
